Case study · Sixfold / Transporeon · 2021-2024
Ocean MVP

When I joined Sixfold, the company’s strength was the monitoring of EU road transports and calculating ETAs for them. After merging with Transporeon, we found that Transporeon had also aquired a company specializing in maritime transportation, i.e., container tracking. Once it was decided that all transportation tracking activities should be consolidated into the Sixfold application, there arose a need to create a tool for maritime tracking that was at least as capable as the one we had for road transportation. To explore this opportunity, we decided to conduct a design sprint.
As part of the design sprint, I created a prototype of a minimal viable product (MVP) design, parts of which were later incorporated into the actual product.

Metroline designs
Road and Ocean transports differ in many aspects thus new designs with a similar look for Ocean "Metroline" were needed.

Ocean Map view
MVP designs also contained map view to visualize ports that the transported goods will go through. Later aim was to provide real tracking data of vessels.
